Project Description
The project is a five line Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power station in the UK that will produce 2000MW thus supplying power to up to 3 million dwellings
MMOS Role
Murphy Matson O’ Sullivan Consulting Engineers are currently the Civil & Structural Engineers for the completion of one of the largest and most energy efficient Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power stations in the UK.
Our role on the project is to provide Civil & Structural Consultancy expertise in order to ensure the most efficient valued engineered completion of the five turbine CCGT lines. We are responsible for the sign off of all structural steel works prior to the installation of the building facade as well as value engineering the remaining Civil aspects of the project, including economical road design and drainage systems among other items.
The plant is owned and commissioned by RWE npower and will produce 2000MW thus supplying power to up to 3 million dwellings. Murphy Matson O’ Sullivan Consulting Engineers work closely with Alstrom and John Sisk & Sons on the project in order to ensure that the final elements of the project are engineered to their highest standards.
